Miss Grand International 2017: National Costume Competition

Miss Grand International 2017 National Costume Competition was held last October 12 in Quang Binh, Viet Nam. The girls paraded on stage with their fabulous costumes. It was a grand spectacle of colors, rich in culture and imagination.

Here are some of the girls in their native costumes:

Argentina is a carnival dancer.  Look at the details of her costume. Very fine crafted. Simply amazing.

China in her opera inspired costume. She looks very pretty.

Ecuador is authentic. Very Latin, full of culture.

India has a very beautiful face. Her costume, as described, represents the multicultural diversity of India.

Indonesia, I think has the most beautiful costume.  Hands down the winner of the competition. From artistry to cultural relevance, imcomparably the best.

Jamaica is the queen of the Carribean. The feathers in different colors complemented her exotically beautiful skin tone. Lovingly beautiful!!!

Laos and her golden temple is another star attraction. Fabulously gorgeous!!!

Peru is a white peacock. She chose this costume to bring awareness to save the bird from extinction.

Philippines is wearing a Mindanao inspired costume. Presenting the Tinalak fabric of the T'boli tribe. She looks classy and chic as usual.

Puerto Rico is the pearl of the Carribean. The queen of the South seas.

Spain gracefully bends as she dances the flamenco

South Sudan is WOW!!! look at those long legs. The queen of Africa.

Sri Lanka is the Lion King. Presenting the Ceylon Lion. Majestic and powerful.

Sweden keeps it real. She looks like Snow White.

Venezuela is Vavavoom gorgeous. Her beautiful piercing eyes is the best accessory to her colorful native costume.

Viet Nam is another show stopper. Divine and queenly at its best.

Wales is a beautiful wild orchid. And oh my..... She is the lovliest.

Miss Grand International 2017 : Featuring Miss Philippines Elizabeth Dorado Clenci

Today let me write about Miss Grand International 2017. This year, the pageant is on its 5th year. There are 76 contestants vying for the title. The Philippines has a good track record in this competition. We have consecutively placed in the top 5 from 2014 to 2016.

This year, our bet is Elizabeth Dorado Cleci from the Kagandahang Flores camp. She won the title Binibining Pilipinas Grand International last April. Here are some of Liz's photos from the currently on-going event in Viet Nam, this year's host country.

I think Elizabeth has a high chance in continuing our top 5 placement. As can be seen from the photos above, she went prepared for the pageant. Her styling is always on point. She look regal and classy (thus the monicker Classy Clenci). She also articulates very well in interviews. She exudes both confidence and grace when she walks.

Today (Oct 17) is the swimsuit competition. Our girl did very well with her presentation. Her walk is unique and as they say a trademark of Kagandahang Flores. I will post a picture soon.

Preliminary competition is on the 23rd, while the finals is on the 25th. Live at the Vinpearl Resort, Phu Quoc island.

Let us support our girl, Elizabeth Dorado Clenci. Let our cheers be heard all through out Viet Nam and the whole world. Mabuhay Philippines!!! Mabuhay ka binibining Elizabeth Dorado Clenci!!! Go get that golden crown.

Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Parade of Beauties

One of the highlights of the yearly Bb. Pilipinas pageant is the Parade of beauties along Araneta Center Cubao. On this event, the lovely ladies dressed in festive attire parade around the city. This year, they were made to wear a floral 1-piece bathing suit matched with a carnival headpiece. They wave to their fans each aboard a luxury car.


The parade gives us a good glimpse on who will eventually shine on the finals night. The ladies who made good impressions are:
